Handmade products crafted with the best ingredients

Pure & Hazel

Our chocolates are made with great care, resulting in unique and delicate flavours that will satisfy any chocolate lover's palate. We use only the finest ingredients, which are - wherever possible - Fairtrade and Organic certified, preferably from British produce, and with sustainability in mind. We produce chocolates for our retail online shop, but we also create unique designs tailored to different occasions and needs.

  • Fairtrade Ingredients

Around the world farmers and producers are being exploited to make cheap products and resources available for the first world countries. This is not only unfair to them but also pushes them and their families into poor living conditions, which not rarely are without running water and electricity.

The Fairtrade Foundation was established in the 90s to help those people by making sure that growers and producers receive a fair share for what they produce by adding a small levy on top of normal product retail prices. This means that the ingredients I am using are minimally more expensive but will help those people to live better lives.

  • Organic Ingredients

The direct and indirect intervention of humankind into crops' growth and yield with the help of synthetic/chemical substances and/or genetic alterations sounds like a good idea considering the rising numbers of humans living on planet earth.

However, this has not only an impact on the crops themselves but on the whole ecosystem around them; Chemicals slowly poison the soil and might kill animals, bugs and bees. Every living being is an important part to keep the balance in our ecosystem.

Hence, whenever possible I will use Organic Certified products to counterbalance the harm done to our world and to ourselves.

  • Local Products

Even though not always possible (especially in the world of chocolate), I will select local products over cheaper imported products. This can span from using British dairy products to sourcing ingredients from local farmers and growers. This will reduce CO2 emissions and supports local small businesses and subsequently local communities.

  • Sustainable Packaging

To make a positive impact on our environment, I believe we can make small changes to our behaviour and focus on recyclable packaging. My goal is to be able to create a small ecosystem with returnable and reusable packaging (eg. glass bottles, carton boxes) which will help people to save money on the one hand, and on the other will help them to keep our environment the small bit cleaner.
